I recently purchased a media processing board TN2302 Vintage 3. I was given 5 ip soft phone licenses and was trying to configure the board. I am looking for assistance if anyone out there has been able to make this work.
I got this working the other day on our switch. Do you already have a CLAN card to work in conjunction with the MEDPRO board? Is it already configured?
Let me know and I'll jot down some instructions for you.
1. change node-name ip
specify the ip to use
2. change ip-interface
specify the baord pareamenters and make sure its in the same region as your clan
3. administer the ip-network-region
4. administer the ip-codec-set
this is the very basics on getting it up and working, thats if you already have a clan that is functional..
Providing your CLAN is already configured properly, and you can successfully ping it from a workstation on your LAN, this is all you should need to do:
1) Name your MEDPRO board and assign IP address)
'change node-names ip'
2) Verify the MEDPRO appears in ethernet options
'change ethernet-options'
ETHERNET OPTIONS
Enable

y C-LAN 01A10 TN799 D n 100Mbps Full
y C-LAN 01A06 TN799 D n 100Mbps Full
y MEDPRO 01B05 TN2302 y
3) Configure your MEDPRO under IP Interfaces
'change ip-interfaces'
(You will need to configure yours specifically for your LAN of course)
Net

y C-LAN 01A10 TN799 D CLAN-PBXExtra 255.255.0 .0 192.168.1 .1 1 n
y C-LAN 01A06 TN799 D CLAN-PBX-CLAN3 255.255.255.0 192.168.1 .1 1 n
y MEDPRO 01B05 TN2302 IP-PROCESSOR1 255.255.0 .0 192.168.1 .1 1 n
As long as your CLAN can be pinged, this is all you should need to do to configure the MEDPRO. Let me know if you run into any problems.
Thanks for your help Buckweet. I made the changes, gave the board an ip address and I have a functional CLAN board. Guess i need to next install the Avaya ip softphone on a pc and go from there. Any other info I need to make this test a good one?
FYI if you're looking at softphone, I recommend the USB plantronics headsets, very good sound quality. especially over these cruddy soundcards that are in PC's today..
Thank you hayw00d. I followed your's and buckweet's directios and the board is enabled. I now would love to know how the IP soft phone should be configured. I guess im a bit lost here.
The other question I have is, the medpro board able to initiate SIP protocol? If so, I have a bunch of the Cisco 7410 IP phones that we would love to utilize!
I'm running 4.1.3.28. There is a service pack available in the downloads area on the Avaya site. I'm not sure about your other question - hopefully someone else can shed some light on it.
Thank you both for your help. I guess I am going to need more help with the IP soft phone set up. If you know of anyone that might be able to help me, I would appreciate it!
