A few weeks ago I noticed that all my PCs with media player now take several MINUTES to load any video file. It doesnt matter if the file is across the network or local files. It doesnt seem to matter if the target files are larger or small, it takes media player 4 or 5 minutes "connecting" to load any video. Everything plays just fine once this is completed but media player didnt use to do this. I keep all my machines updated to all the microsoft patches. I have run all the virus and ad ware software and there dont seem to be any problems. Can anybody speculate about what happened? where to look at this point? This is happening on an HP notebook, a Dell Notebook and a Gateway Desktop so the hardware has nothing in common.

See if there is anything about it on this site?

You can wade through these if you like.

Is there any other player installed?

Are there any clues in any of the Event Viewers?
