Hi

Just recently Media Player 8.0 on my PC constantly asks me to download the "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec" It asks me to download it everytime I play an MP3, I can add a bunch of tracks to a playlist and it will ask me to download the codec for every track, which is incredibly irritating. I have checked the option to automatically download codecs but have no idea why this keeps happening, and even with the option checked surely after downloading the codec for one track it should be ok for the next.

Anyone know what I can do to stop it? and/or tell me why all of a sudden I keep getting this?

Thanks

Naiku

You probably keep getting it because another app was installed, then uninstalled for MP3's, or it's just plain corrupted.
Three ways to fix.
Get Winamp...or
Uninstall WiMP 8, then go back to Windowsupdate and reinstall it...or
Download and install the codec from the web Cheers,
Jim
