This is a follow up question. Problem not resolved yet. Situation : Start up machine and go into Media Center to listen to music, works fine, then fire up a game and will get video, no audio..Go back to Media Center and get following error - "Audio device error - Video cannot be displayed because no audio device has been detected. Please check that your audio device is properly installed, and then try again." Now if you start computer and go directly to a game or Media Player, no problems. I've reinstalled all drivers time and time again. No positive results. MB has built in audio. Thinking I should try adding sound card, or can I remove Media Center?

ridgerunner,

OS - Windows XP PRO/ Media Center w/SP2

It's either XP Pro or MCE/MCE2005. They are 2 different OSes, MCE cannot join an AD domain, but essentially the same otherwise. I am assuming it is MCE and you are having trouble with the bundled Media Center interface? Is it a Windows error or application error? Are there any clues in the Event Log?(Right-click My Computer->Manage->Event Viewer)

Tony

Wahnula,

There are no errors in the security, application, or services. Media Center URP2 SP2B.
