Media Player 6.4 is a simple way to stream what
we need to stream, however, on the Media Player
version that we have, the controls such as "rewind",
"go to" are not activated. In other words, under the
menu title, "Play", these options are clearly there,
but they are in light font, and not active. (Obviously
no help on Microsoft's pages)

Anyone know how to make these options active?

Thanks.

where do you want to go to?
I love 6.4, and will only use that version.....but to rewind, just drag the slider

The slider is not precise enough. I need to be
able to click on "Go To" and type in an
exact time. Any suggests welcome.

To navigate to marked sections in a media file

Sometimes media files will contain markers, which are like tracks on a compact disc. When you select a marker from a list, Windows Media Player begins playing the section of the media file associated with that marker.

1 On the Play menu, click Go To.

2 Double-click the marker indicating the section you want to begin playing.

Tip

· If the Go To bar appears in the player window, you can open the list of markers by clicking the arrow in the Go To bar.

duh! MS crud
The file Obviously NEEDS a MARKER to seek to

what types of files are you using?
there are probably alternatives - i looked into using Amovie and Sndrec32 ....but they both need "locally" saved files to operate.
If you're editing WAV files, you can use Nero's Wave Editor (if you have it) for precision.
Otherwise you'll need an Audio Capture device for "streaming" content.
What are the File extensions you want to use, and are the files saved "locally"?
I don't know if WMP 7.1 would be any better
and not sure if this pack from MS will help
WMP codec pack 6.4
details here -->

ALL including 7.1

I really think the "property" needs to be INSIDE the actual media file
