ME to XP Professional...will not upgrade.

I tried upgrading to XP Professional from ME. The disk loads and before it starts to install it says "The option to upgrade is not available at this time"...then it says because it can not find D:\1386\WIN9Xupg\W95UPG.dll.
When I look on the disk I can see that this file is there.

Anyone have this happen or know what’s up.

Is it an upgrade you bought or the full package? if its an upgrade, try copying the contects of the cd to the hard drive and running it from there.

If its the full shilling, wipe ME and go for a clean install. Far better, trust me. Scotsdude

Full Version. I will go the full wipe and install route. I wanted to avoid it because of the huge hard drive for files I have but i agree, getting this ME crap off is the best bet.
