ME DEFRAG WITH XP POSSIBLE? 1

I find XP defrag quite slow---also don`t like the graphics.Does anyone know if I can use Millenium defag in XP?

Yes...But whether it is wise or not may be debatable...I am not savvy enough to enter into that fray...But..it will work smitee

I understand your temptation to use the ME defragmenter, it is SO fast!

I would caution you against it for one reason however:

Unlike Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and even Windows NT4.0 all use a swap file called "pagefile.sys". Windows ME, Windows 98, and Windows 95 use a different kind of swap file called "win386.swp".

While I'm not CERTAIN, I don't think it would be wise to attempt to use a defragmenter that might not defragment the "NT-Type" swap file correctly.

But hey, if you try it, and it works, let us know!!!!

Thanx for the replies folks.I`m a bit hesitant to try it ---so perhaps I`ll wait till somebody else is brave enough to try it.
