MDAC, XP PRO SP2

Have a vb6 program that works well on xppro sp1. However, when the user updated to sp2 and tried to run the program, this error:

Database Management System

Database Management System has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem.......

Is this a MDAC situation?

My guess is it has to do with SP2 "enhanced" security features. There are a number of articles out there on it and if you go to Google and search on "SQL SP2 issues" you get lot's of hits. Here's a start:
