We have Definity G3r V9. My Avaya business partner has told me that activating the MCT feature "nails up" the trunk the person is calling on... I'm not sure what this means. I know I can get a printout from ASA. Does this nailing up the trunk help my local telco (Qwest) identify where the call is originating? They have an annoyance call bureau, and have been told we call them AFTER THE FACT. Then what if the person is using caller ID blocking... Is there any way around this in the switch? Thanks for any help anybody can pass on.

Do not really know what your Business Partner means.
But ones a MCT trace is started ONLY the calling party (thus the malicious caller) can disconnect the conversation.
Only when the DEFINITY gets a message from the public network that the calling party disconnected the DEFINITY will tear down all connections.

In your MCT report you can findt details about the trace, in this you'll also find the physical trunk-member the call came in on (is ia a port number e.g. 1A1003).
Qwest might be able to do something with this.

Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.
