We may attempt to convert our SCR keys to all MCR keys. For example on my 3903 i have 3113 and rollover is 5113 they are both SCR. We would like to free up the 5000 for DID's. Will MCR work the same for hunting etc? Just a normal mid size corp environment.

If they have DN expansion package you could do 5 or 6 digit for key 1. It will hunt to Vmail if thats what your asking.
But I wouldn't recomend it.
change they all to 4,6,7 or 8000 range

yes we use mcr's for the same reason, being in a larger switch, we have all 10,000 did's in the 434.. so we use a second line for roll over, we burn two did's.. that and running out of 4 digit numbers has forced mcr's... the only slack i get from users is depts that perfer to put a line on hole and have someone pick it up at a different location. with mcr it is only on hole on my phone, i would need to transfer it to your phone, even if we share mcr keys

with mcr you don't get hunt, unless all copies of the mcr are busy.. fna takes effect most of the time.. and you don't need lhk to force hunt up a phone

John,

Wow, you burn 2 DID's per phone? When I worked at Nortel, we had all 10,000 numbers in the 495 prefix and we only burned 1 DID per line. We were on a 5 digit dialing plan but the second line was a 7 digit roll over line. (eg. key 0 = 53851, key 1 = 7153851). They were all SCRs.

McGruff753, that's how we do ours. We own an entire prefix w/ all 10,000 DIDs and have a 5-digit DID on key 0 and 7-digit non-DID on 1&2. Ie 42255, 2012255, 2022255... -Matt

if your using anything above 4 digits your good, we want be on 5 digits for another 6 months, the other sites on this network will need to make drastic changes to go to 5, so we are held back, mcr's have saved us
