Mcaffee virus scan hangs NT4 on restart/shutdown

Any one have a solution for this? So far I've been able to disable the system scan portion of it and the pc will then shutdown. Obviously I will need a better answer since I can't very well leave the system scan shut off indefinitely. Thanks!!!

What version are you using? The latest corporate version is 4.5.1 Service Pack 1.

Have you tried running a SuperDAT upgrade? (SuperDAT upgrades the DAT files, and the scanning engine).

If that fails to work, have you tried uninstalling, deleting the folder, then reinstalling the application?

I am using version 4.5.1 SP1. I have tried reinstalling the app and I have upgraded to the most recent Dat files. It is still hanging. I think this is more of an NT problem similar to when you unplug the network from an NT box during shutdown and it hangs.

Can you stop/start the McAfee Services manually? MCSE NT4/W2K

Have you gone into Syetem Scan options and try to turn off Scan floppies on shutdown and see if that helps, Mcafee has had issue in the past hanging 9X boxes at shutdown too.
