mbhandari,

I have bcc on one of the routers, and can get to entering the static route stage and all looks ok but, it will not save the route. When I enter the command:
#ip static-route network/mask/next-hop-address
(note that I am entering my network, mask and gateway addresses)
I get:
static-route/network/mask/next-hop-address#
If I type in address, it will show me the address I put in, it will show the route and the gateway, but will not save it. I am saving as:
#save config <vol>:<filename>
Got any ideas?

Thank you in advance for your great help, a few days ago, I had never touched a Bay router, and now I am almost there.

Hi RK,
What happen when you save the config!!!
Does it give any error message
Do you enogh flash space. If not Compact it.
Do dir and see the "Contiguios space" not the "free space".
If you find less "contiguios space" try compact Command, But be carefull. it Is risky. Take the backup of Image and Config Before doing that. Once compact starts not let router to Reboot or Power Off, other wise you will be in big soup. There is method to recover but too teidou.
If you have enough space try it saving to some other file.
Remember you have to come out of the IP context.
try typing
#back
since this config is dynamic.
come out of BCC and Enter into it agin and only save the Config.

Mbhandari,

I was able to get version7 of Site Manager and I can do whatever I need to now with the configuration file. I do have another question for you though. I have been looking at the existing config of the routers that we have here. The sites are all PVC together. When I look at the frame-relay config, there is no entry for the dlci. Do you only need dlci for SVC?. I thought it was needed for frame relay no matter what.
Also, I have three of the routers set up in my home in on a test bench. The frame relay status is showing "down" of course, but, does the frame relay status have to be in the "UP" state in order for me to ping the serial interface on this side of the router?

Thanks,

RKMorrow

Thats true.
It is needed if you dont have LMI and Different PVCs.
with LMI enabled You just have to say encapsulation Frame-relay, It will dynamicly create DLCI .
try
Sh frame-relay command at the Router it will show you subinterfacese it created.
