The book "ABAP Objects" by Horst Keller & Sascha Kruger ($59)includes 2 CD's with the "Mini Basis" system. You can install this on a Win2K (or NT) machine and play with ABAP. My colleague installed it, said it was "great". It uses free MS-DataEngine (SQL) as the backend. Said it includes EVERYTHING !!! except the actual SAP datafiles needed to use any of the bread-butter SAP modules. PS. The book is very good too!
MiniSAP is great, I bought it at by 25 euros.
