Maximum receipt headers exceeded (possible mail loop).

This email is being sent to a distribution list from a sister company where my recipients have been enter as custom recipients.

The bounce back is only occasional most of the emails sent to this address reach the indented recipients. I am using Exch 5.5 on a Win 2K Server.

A theory here is that is may be a fire wall issues. I don't know if that's the problem or not. What would cause this error message. Any ideas?

I think I have figured this problem out.

The problem is that the original DL is sending to a DL at my location which has the sender listed as a recipient, therefore creating the loop.

I hope that is not too confusing.
