As title, im trying to find this info, i have looked on the very bad Nortel website and can find nothing relating to this.

Hope someone can help.

The 200 has 2 slots for modules and the 400 has 4 slots. It depends on how you configure it. 4x16 module will give you 4 lines and 16 digital stations. DSM32 (Digital station module)will give you 32 digital stations, etc.....

Hi, thanks for the reply,

Yes i understand the way the modules work but there must be a maximum amount of TDM and IP phones the system can handle with a 3/5 dsm30 split and a 2/6 split.

Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact specifics on that. As far as ip phones, I would think it could support as many IP clients as you want to put on it as long as your network can handle the traffic.

I think the max is 192 sets. I don't have my books here though.

192 digital sets on the 400, with no trunks. Remove 32 sets for each bus dedicated for trunks (T1 or up to 16 analog trunk ports per bus).

the amount of IP phones depends on the applications you have running
with no applications i think the number of IP Clients on a 400 is 90

This matrix came from a recent engineering presentation:

System: BCM50
Typical Target: <20 stations
Typical Max Capacity: 44 Digital + 32 IP + 1 T1 + 4 Analog trunks
Max Station/Min Trunking: 76 digital + 32 IP

System: BCM200
Typical Target: 20-32 stations
Typical Max Capacity: 32 Digital + 42 IP + 1 T1
Max Station/Min Trunking: 64 Digital + 42 IP

System: BCM400
Typical Target: 60 Stations
Typical Max Capacity: 128 Digital + 42 IP + 2 T1
Max Station/Min Trunking: 192 digital + 58 IP OR 90 IP

thanks for the professional/complete answer JasonPM ... as opposed to my I think its 90 :)

Hi Senk1s

There is an entire section in the manual regarding resources. But I have a tool on my website for rough estimations of system config.

Thank you all for all your help.

Is it possible to link several BCM units to accomodate additional capacity?

If a vendor indicated that a linked BCM would grow to 400 ports, is this accurate?

if you are in the 400 set range an option 11 is a much better choice.
