Im looking for a way to run Windows Explorer Maximized??
any ideas???

example
%systemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e, /select, c:\download
Force this window to be maximized just as if the Maximize button is pressed....

Iv checked n tried

1...Group Policy Editor..

2...visual fox pro
=add /n3 (not using fox pro)

3...checked for registry hacks

4...
ShowWindow Function
SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED
=dont know how to impliment

5...Cheched out trying to script it :S

Must be a simple way for a user to pass/force this for an app or window?

Am I correct in assuming that you start Windows Explorer without using a shortcut? If you did use one, you could simply select the "Maximized" setting of the shortcut properties.

Have you tried opening Windows Explorer, maximizing it, then closing it? After this, every time you open WE it should be maximized unless you resize the window before you close it.

Is WE being opened via a script or third party application? This may not be much help, but I use an app that always maximizes IE windows ( Maybe you can contact the author and get him to modify it for Windows Explorer.

I would suggest using the shortcut option as PPetit proposed. But if you are opening the window from a batch file you could use the following command:

[blue]start /MAX explorer /e,/root,Desktop,/select,"C:\"[/blue]

The "start" command can force the window to maximize. Tweak your explorer command as needed.

not just My Computer but every explorer window...

If its Windows-key E or what ever...

All Windows Explorer not All Apps...

Thanks

What exactly do you mean by "explorer window"?

If you mean a Windows Explorer window opened by accessing "My Computer", pressing Windows-E, or running explorer.exe from a shortcut or command line, my advice should have resolved your problem. It works for me, at least.

If you mean a Windows Explorer-like window initiated from within a program (such as a "Save As" or "Open" dialog box)... good luck with that. As far as I know, those are not really Windows Explorer windows. I would imaging that the only way to get those maximized every time is to modify the application itself.

See if this will do the trick:

With all other Explorer windows closed, open My Computer. If it doesn't open maxmized then maximize it. Use File ->close (NOT the X) to close it.

Reopen My Computer. It should now open maximized. Go to Tools ->folder options. On the VIEW tab click on "Apply to all folders".

Cheers.
