Massive amount of Temp files

I have a user here were I work, which his computer gets about 30,000 to 60,000 temp files when he is plugged into the network. We run Windows 2000 Pro, Lotus Notes 4.6, and Novell Netware. He did have Outlook set up with a Notes account as well and was getting 65,000 temp files a day. I since then deleted the Notes account from Outlook and now he is only getting about 30,000, but that is still way to many. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I have run a thorough virus scan and found nothing everytime. I have also ran Ad-Aware 5.83 and Spybot, both programs found things, but they did not solve the problem.

Just the normal Windows stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary, that is why I am so baffled.

They're appearing in the root directory?
(where were the others)
Partially solving the problem with Notes account removal makes me think there's some corruption with Outlook...confirm by removing all the accounts there.

Im sorry the temp files are showing up under his account in documents and settings. Since we ahve a novell network all users us the administrator account. I know I know, they will be changed over once our network migration is finished. Anyway, the temp file are not under the root.

Okay, are they 0 byte files?
Wasn't viable alternative for troubleshooting (feel like Charlie Chan here) to disable Outlook account?

Yes, about 85% of the files are 0 byte. As for the Outlook account, all accounts were removed when the Notes account was removed.

Do they appear if the system just sits idle? How about if it's off the network and sitting idle?

Try running Filemon from sysinternals.com. That will likely shed some light on how they're being created.
