I just set up a spare phone to be MARP on a couple of multiple appearance DNs so when the admins go home on Friday they can forward these lines to the PBX operators. (Heaven forbid someone would have to wait 4 rings to get a voicemail prompt on Labor Day).

When I forward the phone it correctly forwards line 0 and 1 (single appearance numbers), but not lines 2 and 3 (multiple appearance). The switch shows the DNs MARPed properly, but I'm at a loss for why they don't work.

Any ideas?

Did you change the LHK (last hunt key?) if you post the set it may be easier for us to help you. Also, are you sure MARP is turned on in your switch?

I'm with coniglio on this one. Change the LHK prompt to 3 and see what happens.

make sure that marp is turned on in your switch.. i have had to nul all keys of a number and then put it back on a singe set to get it to follow the fna.. not a good reason if marp soes what the book says..

Curiously, when I NUL the lines and put them back, when I put the first two lines back (single appearance) I get silence in response. When I add the two multi appearance numbers the console responds with 'HNT FNA'.

I know what FNA means, but I don't know what it's telling me.

To forward numbers - they need to be on key 0 or only appearance on a set.

REUSSER IS CORRECT NORTEL ONLY FORWARDS THE PRIME DN ON KEY 0, IF THERE IS NOT TO MANY PHONES YOU CAN BUILD PHONES AND PUT THEM IN THE SWITCH ROOM, BUT YOU WILL NEED 1 PHONE FOR EVERY DN YOU WANT TO FORWARD. IF HAD TO DO THIS FOR A LAWYER FIRM

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

if the keys are only appearing on one phone, any line will fna...my heli port has 12 lines and must forward to security of the operator for a down bird, i was very involved in setting up the test procedures for this, you can use ports 16 to 31 on any card to fna a number that you need control of. 1200 phones in the switch room is not the best idea in some cases

I hate to tell you this, but its not just key 0 that gets forwarded. All Single-Appearance MARPs will be forwarded. However MCRs won't follow any form of immediate forwarding, because it (in Nortel's logicical mind) would defeat the purpose of creating a MCR. MCRs will only follow the HUNT and FDN programming, not any immediate and temporary programming.

Changing the MCR to key 0 of the phone won't do anything. If you can get away with it not being an MCR, then you can do it.

Hope this helps...

Kris

am I reading the original question wrong, or didn't he say FORWARD the phone as in hit the forward button and enter the number where you want the call to go. The printout shows all SCR and SCN key's not MCR key's. He's not talking about FNA.

Right, I'm trying to use the forward function for the phone to forward mutiple appearance scr and scn's on lines 2 and 3 of a 3903.

i use a lot of mcr's on this site, just to save on each person burning two did numbers, with a mcr on key 0 and one, with that arrangement, the fna or forward key works as programed, if a mcr appears on several sets that will change. i have a 3903 and a 2616 set up like that in the switchroom, i do use cfxa and forward to mail on a regular basis.. each phone has a separate number for it's mcr keys, if i put a new did on key 3, the forward works, if i remarp a mcr did to key 3 forward does not work..
