Why don't the Mapped drives connect automatically any more?
When I first install the network, all the mapped drives would connect at boot up, but after the many updates from Microsoft, I have to run around to all the computers and manually connect the mapped drives before our POS system can see the server.

Thanks

Computers are like a bag of hammers, they won't do a damn thing until you pick it up and SMASH something with it!!

Have you tried removing the mapped drives and then setting them up again? When you are setting up a mapped drive there should be the option to "select reconnect at log on" or something of that nature. If that is selected then when the correct user is logged on for that drive it should try and make the connection. I would try that first, maybe a user name or something got changed somewhere along the way so the drive is no longer mapped to the current users name.

Thanks for the tip, I check as you have indicated, but problem also occurs through out the day as well. If the user doesn't use the computer for a few hours, the POS program can't find the server again and need to double click the mapped drive again. I made sure the server isn't shutting down it's drive, but even if power saving was turned on the server will get accessed from the other users all the time, the only time the server idle is at night.

Thanks
