Hello,

I'm trying to map a network drive from 2 different plattforms.

The server which should be mapped is Windows 2000 server (2kServer).

From Windows 2000 workstation I can map the server 2kServer, but IT CAN'T DO THAT from a NT 4.0 workstation.

Do you have please any suggestions.

Thanks,
Hicham

syntactically speaking, how are you mapping the share? In 2K, you can map a "3 tier" path like this:

\\server\share\directory

but NT4 won't understand that. Instead, you'll only be able to do:

\\server\share

could that be the problem?

Hi,
thanks for the info, BUT I mapped the server in both cases (NT 4.0 and NT 5.0) with:
\\server\share

Are you logged on as the same user at both workstations?

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Yes I'm logged with the same account on both workstations.
I forgot to mention another information:
we have two different networks:
both workstations (NT 4.0 and 5.0) are in a domaine network and the Windows 2000 server is in a another (different) network (workgroup)
