anyone know how to disable windows 2000 from auto disconnecting map drive after a period of idle time?

i got application running that required that shared drive on win2k server, it keeps disconnecting after some idle time, after i check..i see that the map drive is disconnected, so i have to click it again in explorer to make it connected again and my application are back to normal

Hi,

You can do it through registry

Registry Settings
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServerParameters]
Value Name: Autodisconnect
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: 0 to 4,294,967,295 (0xffffffff) in minutes

check out this link

OR search in local security policy for "amount of ideal time before disconnect session" change it to FFFFF
