Map Drive at Logon for TS Users

I run a remote application server and would like to set it up to map a network drive automatically for each user at logon. How can I set this up?

You can do it with login script. Try to search about kixtart, there are login script template for kixtart, just modify it.
I use it so if user login he has all the mapped drives and few printers, if they login to TS, I only mapped 1 drive and one printer.

Alternative for KixStart is vbs, loads of help for scripts at;

Else if this is only one ap server on network or all have a similar name you could do a routine in a log in script. Or run script at log on for all users of that box,

Better to use MS GPO's if poss, makes it easier to remember what you have done.

I would love to define this through GPO, but have never messed with it before. Right now, I have created a bat file with a net use command and placed it in the all users startup folder, so it runs at logon. This is less than optimal, of course, but it does the job. If anyone wanted to give me a pointer or two on GPO, I would love to remove the batch file and set it up that way. Thanks.

Hi there

The GPO is pretty straight forward.

Having created your vbs script,
Open AD Users and Computers
Right click the container with the users your interested in and click on the properties option

Then Click Group Policy Tab
Hit the New Button
Give the policy a useful name
THen Click on the Edit Button
Hey Presto lots of obtions.
Be careful these will affect all users unless you either add permissions to the policy object or move users to smaller containters
Also good practice to keep the policies small, i.e. create lots of smaller policy objects with meaningful names

There is a section you add login scripts to under Windows Settings>Scripts Logon/Off
