making Parameter Fields pop-up 1

Hello Everyone!

Im trying to create a report that allows a user to insert a value (like you can when designing using parameters). Ive got the parameters working but when you publish the report the parameter box doesnt pop up so the data is still static, im quite new to crystal so any help would be good

Im just using the report distribution expert thats built in at the minute, im still testing so it doesnt really matter what format I ouput to if you have some suggestions

all i want to do really is create a report with sales data then have a pop up allowing the user to type account numbers in for example and the report filters these out

Hai Croaks,
Dont pass parameter values when calling that report. If the parameters are not passed, the Crystal Report will automatically pop up to get the parameter values.

How do you mean, what im doing is creating a parameter which doesnt do anything untill i goto select expert and then select equals to then my parameter

what am i doing wrong?

Hai,
if, What you say is to pop up for parameter when you publish the data, then Try to referesh the report before doing this. Then the user will be asked to enter the parameter value.

make sure your report doesn't contain saved data. File menu -> Report Options -> uncheck Save data with report.

Then recompile your report.
