Hey guys I have a customer that I am swinging over from the Nortel world. Couple of things though. They are used to hitting a call park button and then going to any phone hit intercom and the park code like 101, 102 etc.

I know there is a way to build a short code so that the person taking the call can hit a button or a enter short code choose a pre-selected sequence of #'s like park 101, 102, 103 etc. This is actually parking it on the code that you choose and not a system generated #. Then the party that the call is for can go to a phone hit a ride a call button plus the appropriate code 101......

Hoping you could help me out with what the system short code design and user button labelling would be.

Thanks

If you program a "call park" button on extension 101, while talking to customer you press the button the call is parked at 1010. If you park a second call the call would be parked at 1011. Then create a short code to pickup or ride that call.

*5N# N Ride call 0
or any shortcode you want

then to ride call simply *5 1010#

or if you creat the following Short code

SC: 1???
tn .
feature Ride Call (or Unpark if you upgrade to V3.2)

you will just need to dial the park bay number to retrieve the call.

You can also set up buttons on the phones Park 1-3 (up to 16 I believe) that appear on all phones. When a call comes in and its for Jim in Sales, the user just presses PARK 3, or 2, or 1 (for this example, I chose 3) and hangs up. Every phone in the building blinks on PARK 3. That way, "Jim you have a call parked on Line 3" would make Jim go grab the nearest phone and hit the blinking button. The first press of the PARK button will display Caller ID of the call parked there. The second press will grab the call.

Hope this helps.
