Ok, really, this is somewhat "tongue in cheek," but MS couldn't even get Solitaire right in Vista?

In Solitaire you can pause/save your game and come back to it later. This happens to me all the time, and I can reproduce it at will, so I know I am not imagining things:

Let's say you're playing Solitaire and you decide to save your game and come back later. When you open Solitaire back up, it is not the game you saved, but a game that you already lost several games ago. This is really messing with my stats, and is just generally annoying. ;)

Anyway, has anyone else noticed this annoying "feature" and is there a fix for it?

Um, you just may have a bit too much time on your hands. Try Freecell. ;-)

I tried to repeat this fault but I was unable to do so on this machine, which is Ultimate 64-bit. That in itself doesn't help you much, but I was wondering if you have the two Options set to Save the Game, and the other one, Always continue a saved Game?

They messed up Spider too. The cards are too garish and the deal and crad drag are way too slow.

These issues should be fixed with Service Pack 2, unless Windows 7 comes out first of course [wink]

I've got Service Pack 2 (a.k.a. "Service Pack Still Slower Than XP With A Virus And 20 Applications Running").

I also have those options selected to save and continue the games. Oh well.

In case it is a third party cause of the problem, have you tried it from Safe Mode, or from Normal Mode with a different user?

not possible, since SP1 just got out...

also I am with Linney, I can not reproduce the effect either with my VISTA x64 Ultimate...

I was indeed being ironic/sarcastic.. in the friendliest way of course... [smile]

Mmmmmm???... I did wonder where you might have got SP2 for Vista from when SP1 has really only just landed.

Maybe it's your installation of SP2 that's broken Solitaire?
(sorry, got me on a nother sarcastic day again... I mean no harm [wink])

kind of a funny thread
what I did was copy the old windows xp Spider solitare to my vista and I play that one....it plays pretty good

Good call firewolfrl... maybe that would work for Spider too steve? (for the record... I'm not being sarcastic now)

Slightly off on a tangent... I'd be interested to know how much time went into developing the games on Vista, I'd put money on it it was longer than they spent on the actual OS.

You bet...
PS: it's fine with me when someone is being sarcastic or ironic, makes life interesting... imo

Glad to see I provided some amusement for you guys. :) Yeah, when aich69 said SP2, in my mind I was thinking of SP1, but something got lost between the chair and the keyboard.
