Ok, to start out, I'm posting this message in two places. One at and one and
I have a Radeon 64mb DDR VIVO with latest beta drivers, on a 1.2 tbird, win2kpro, and only 128mb RAM. The installation of win2kpro is only about 1 week old. I just installed mad onions 3DMARK2001 program. This program just basically tests your computers limits with the CPU AND 3D card. Anyway, I ran the benchmark. I was on the 3rd game, on high quality, when be brother comes towards my room. For some reason, I didn't want him to see me doing this. (it is my computer, my brother is younger, and loves to watch me do stuff) So I hit the power button on the monitor. Ok, after my brother left, I turn back on my monitor, to find a soft dark blue screen. Kinda like when your vid card or settings arn't configured right, or when your waiting for the intro of a game to show up. I thought this was just in that program, so I hit ESC a couple of times to exit the benchmark. Guess what, all the screen did was flicker a couple of times, like it was changing refresh rates, or desktop size. Still the dark blue screen. I then try restarting it, only to find that it restarts fine, with no display!! I can hear the HD and CDROM start up like they are supposed to, and when win2kpro has started up, putting in my password and hitting enter loads more programs, and I can hear the HD making loading sounds. I next assumed that somehow I had fried my Radeon, so I stick in a differn't, PCI, un 3d card. I get the same results when Itry to boot. THis is where I turned off the computer and came to the forums. :)

2 options left here, niether of which I like.

1. My monitor is now bad, and malfunctions,
2. My motherboard somehow has only 1 part of it fried, the part that talks to the vid card, monitor.

I did not smell anything unusual, nor hear anything unusual. My opinion is that the monitor is now fit for trash. Its a HP Pavillion, can run up to 800X600 on 75htz. or at a way lower resulution and 85 hrtz.

Does anybody have a clue what happened? Is there a way I can fix it? (besides going out and buying a new monitor)

P,S, thank you for taking the time to read this, and understand my problem.

ok, I simply am using an old monitor now, and it works fine, exept it dosn't support refreshreates past 60htrtz :(
