With the client on a Windows 2000 PC keep getting the error 161 when connecting to a mailslot on the Server - a Windows NT PC.

Note if the client and server are on the same PC (any one) it all works fine.

Are they any drivers/restrictions of the Windows NT PC.

Mailslot name is:-

Client connects to:-
//computername/maislot/C:/ABC_SLOT

Server creats:-
//./maislot/C:/ABC_SLOT

Note it works with the server on the Windows 2000 PC

The error-code 161 is ERROR_BAD_PATHNAME.

I would try to change the mailslotname from

//computername/maislot/C:/ABC_SLOT

to

\\computername\mailslot\folder\ABC_SLOT

because :
1 MSDN documentation states that it must be backslashes
2 It also states that the name must be spelled with l (typo?)
3 It doesn't state that a drive: is a valid part.
