Since new employee monitoring laws have come into effect, I need to extract a list of who has access to what in peoples Exchange 5.5 Mailboxes.

Solution 1: Log into Outlook Mailboxes one by one and manually go through everyones folders and check permissions (bearing in mind some people feel necessary to have 100's of subfolder in their Inboxes!) This is very tedious!

Solution 2: Cant find one! Wahhhhhh, help meeeeee!

Is there a program that can do this for me? There must be someone out there in a similar position.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jonathan

I've never heard of a tool that will do this for you, as this is a function of the directory store. That doesn't mean there isn't one, just that I haven't heard of one :).

Bear in mind that only two people can affect who has permission to read their folders (and the messages in them). Exchange Admins and the mailbox owner. This basically make the user responsible for the security of their e-mail.

Thanks, I will have a look at that. From the description it looks very usefull.

I shall post again once I have tried it.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I've not heard of any tools like that either, I'm going to check out the one suggested. One thing you can do is go into the exchange server application log and look for event id #1016. If your wondering about people having access into others mailboxes, I'm pretty sure those events are submitted when someone other than the mailboxes owner accesses that mailbox.
