I have an Option 11 running release 25.15+ with Meridian Mail Release MM13.12.1. Every 20 to 25mins I get the following messages from the system:

CSA002 9 11:48:14 19/07/06 4
ESDA001 9 11:48:14 19/07/06 6

At which time the Mail system is down. If I status the AML link I get:

AML: 09 ESDI: 09 DES: MAIL_AML_9
LYR2: AUTO SETUP LYR7: DOWN DSBL AUTO SETUP

Then within 5 to 10 mins I get the following messages:

ESDA002 9 11:52:16 19/07/06
CSA003 9 11:52:16 19/07/06

If I try to AX into mail, the system waits for a couple of mins then comes back with:

Program Resource Manager [Arg=""] Node 1 Ver. 1.0 (MM13)
PRM(Info): Using software volume :BOOT100:
PRM: Waiting for Seer Server to register
System Id = 10006796
PRM SetMMBlock: DoShutMM set to FALSE 0
PRM InitSystem: MaxProgs calculated to be 50
PRM Audit: Audit task is up
PRM InitSystem: starting VS node 1 prog 0 sibling -1
PRM: doing FOX security check
PRM : OS Version - HP060595 for Fox:Wed Jan 5 17:10:11 2000:SAS_FOX-REL:13.12.1
PRM Running startup diagnostics
PRM: Loaded - Overlay RSM_HDLR node 1 prog 2 sibling -1 LoadId 1
PRM: Loaded - Overlay VOM_PP node 1 prog 3 sibling -1 LoadId 2
PRM: Loaded - Overlay TC node 1 prog 8 sibling -1 LoadId 3
PRM: Loaded - Overlay TC node 1 prog 9 sibling -1 LoadId 4

From there the normal MM login screen appears and I am able to login.

So it looks to me that the mail system reboots itself every 20 mins, comes back up for about 30mins and then reboots again.

Not sure where to go from here, dont really know too much about the meridian, so any help welcome.

Many thanks.

might have a bad interface card in the 11 slot 10.. that is a hard connection to the aml built on the ssc card. i would do an ini before i started ordering parts.. is your mail backed up.. and do you have any harddrive left?

Thanks John for post.

Manual int the system today but no joy with the vm. There is a backup tape in the vm, but I'm not sure if the backups have been successful. I dont know if the hard drive is full or not, how would I check that??

go to the backup screen and look at the percentage of usage. if your office is closed at 5m then power down the system, reseat the card in slot 10, make sure that none of the daughter boards are loose.. get all the cards in tight, then power up..

1.. your mail could be full

2 your may ahve a bad card

3. IT's not soft...

99 percent sure

One other thing...
Is this Option 11 in a hotel by chance and using a Property Management System? I've seen those lock up and reboot the mail system over and over and over.

!NOTE! never trust anything with the initials PMS....

that's a fact, a switch with pms can have drastic mood swings..

The system is in a call centre for a travel agency. Ive ordered up a replacement CPU card for the mail system, just waiting for it to arrive.

Thanks for all your help.

You have most of the information you need, but I suggest you check the End Of Life information for your MerMail, these systems are fast approaching End of Life, which means Support and Parts may not be available after the time frame your system or contract give date for End of Life.

Good Luck
