Mail merge problem - decimal points in numbers

I have a word document linked to a data sheet in excel. I have cels in excel containing numbers with 2 decimal places.

When I access them as an insert in Word they show a long line of decimal places

example cell in excel
19.69

insert in word
19.690000000000001

any ideas?

Formatting changes NOTHING, except what you see. The VALUE is 19.690000000000001 in Excel.

The Fix: Change the VALUE in Excel by creating a new column value using the ROUND function.
