Hi,

I have a query for exchnage 2000 mail divertion

actually i have one Email Id on exchange 2000 server and is configured for mail sending and receiving .
Now i need to forward any mails coming from local user to this local Email Id to external email id
i.e. the local emails in the mailbox should get xferred to that external/pop emailid as well as he shld get it in his local inbox as well

Does anybody has a solution to same

Regards,

Papps

Open AD on the server.
You need to add your external address to the server first, as a custom recipient (and hide it from the Global address book afterwards).

Go to the properties of the account you want forwarded and change the Delivery Options.
Select the Forwarding Address and fill in the address you want it to send a copy to. Don't forget to put a Check in "Deliver the message to both..." or you will not receive it on your local account anymore.

Hi,

Thanx for replying.
can u be more specified on wot u mean by the statement Open AD on the server
if possible also let me know how to go about

also details on my query posted

actually this internal email id as well as the external email id carries same email id e.g papps@hotmail.com
as my internal email id is the same and when the above person goes out of office he shld also get it when he chks it from my live server whcih is hosted at our ISP end

brief on setup

1)live server of my org hosted at ISP on imail
2)exchange server 2000 at my office end for users
3) i collect mail from live mail server as we have created a collection box pop group for every offices across world
4)the user which i am talking abt is a POP account whose mails are downloaded and chked by him at inside office and he gets in LAN both external as well as internal mails, but when he moves to different office he sees only those mails which are there on live server(from xyz@abc.com accept from ...@hotmail.com) and not mails from internal users as his email id e.g. papps@hotmail.com is created as default SMTP adress while creating login in Windows server due to which whenever a internal user types the mail to him he has it stored in internal exchange server(i need this internal mail to be diverted to the same email id externally also)

Regards,

Papps

AD is Active Directory on the Exchange server.
just open the user in question and go to properties - Exchange General - Deleivery Options.
There you can fill in another address for the mails to be forwarded to. Check the box to keep the mailbox receive the mail also, if required.

Anything outside the Exchange server has to be dealt with at that place, be it Hotmail or any other.
