I have 2 DL360 servers running 6.0 and I was requested the mac address of my servers to generate a new license file. How do I go about finding that remotely.

Login as root on your server and enter the command:

ifconfig -a

- Stinney

I love learning and passing on knowledge. "Because knowing is half the battle".... GI JOOOOOE!

To remotely find the MAC address: from a DOS prompt type nbtstat -a <ipaddress of system>.
It will return the MAC address.

Opps.. nbtstat only works with windows. Try pinging the server then do arp -a <ipaddress>
This will return the mac address of a Linux box.

the ifconfig -a worked. It gave me the mac of each of the interfaces.
