M7410 Endless Scanning 1

While I know the 7410 CT is a piece of junk, I have a friend who insists on keeping it. Lately it seems the handset constantly scans and doesn't connect to the base to make calls. This can be fixed temporarily by unplugging the baase from the AC outlet and pluggin back in. After a while, it does the scanning thing again. Any ideas on this, or does it need to be sent in for repair or just replaced? I can't talk him into a 7406, because he insists on the 7410. Thanks for your help.

I'd suspect the base/transmitter is going bad. Call around for a replacement.

SS code is only on the T7406. 7410 handsets sync up to the base the first time it's placed in the cradle, kinda like the old Merlin and Partner MLC cordless phones (ugh!).

Yeah throw it out, not even worth repairing lol.

There is a code to access the hand set to turn off auto scan and only use one channel.F***m7410.

cook1082: Does this code require a password or is it more of a toggle on/off? This hopefully will work. Aside from the scanning BS, all else works pretty good.

All others: I'm really trying to get him to abandon the thing, but we all know how stubborn people can be. FWIW, I have one and it works great, other than the occasional "1" key not working on the handset.

It is F *** M7410 enter this in on the handset.Once in you will see what to do.
