Nortel 7410 handset scanning

I have a Norstar 7410 that displays SCANNING on its handset. Battery is good.

There must be a way to assign a handset to a base unit but I am not able to locate this information. There was a thread addressing this problem on this site but I am not quite sure how to get "into security". Went through all dialogs and did not find anything there that would alow me to assign a password to a handset.

Any ideas... Thanks.
 
Rebooted both the KSU (0x32) and the M7410 itself (Power off/Reset). Still scanning.

What is F***M7410 ? (tried Feature *** and Feature ***7410 both were invalid.

 
7410's were a good idea that never worked right. My boss still uses one, but all of our customers have given up on them.

I'd suggest replacing it with a T7406 or T7406e.
