M3903/ M3904 soft buttons programmed as 911 SpeedDial ?

Our Risk Manager is asking if it is possible to program 911 Speed Dial or Hot Dial on one of the 4 Soft Buttons on the M3903/M3904 phones when it is IDLE; is this possible?

no - not on one of the soft buttons unless it was a speed dial number.

You can of course on key 0 -3 on 3903 or 0-11 on 3904

best bet is to use a key x hotd 4 9911, then the user can't change the dest.. another ring down is hot L 1, the build a htl in ld 18 with 9911 as entry 1... if i am doing lots of hot dials i use the hot l so i can change them all at the same time in case of a change, and with a hot L, that single dest can overide ncos of any set... so on my stations that require an account code to dial local will 9,911 without the fac code... guest phones dial 911 or 9911 and get internal security.

Unless your Risk Manager like lots of false alarms or there's a very good reason for putting this on a key (like for a bank teller or something), I'd strongly recommend not putting 911 on a key.

My Director wanted this "feature" (sent to Dispatch, not directly to 911) and even though users had to press Shift to hit it, there were 2 or 3 false alarms every day. Dispatch soon assumed all of them were false alarms and just ignored them.

How long does it take a person to dial 911? Probably the same amount of time it takes to find and press Shift and a key. I had to wait for the prior Director to be replaced before I could remove the HOTD - nobody complained and I got a sincere thank you from Dispatch.
