Hi.
I have deleted a bunch of users - no problems there.
However on the M: drive the users mailbox folder is still present?
Why? And how do I delete it? I know I dont have R/W access to here - is it me thats wrong or is it Exch2K?

Yours confusedly

What you are looking at is probably an archive file created by the user. It's not directly related to Exchange, since it was created by Outlook. You will have to log on as someone with rights to the file or folder before you can delete it. If you are an admin, you should be able to 'take ownership' of the file and assign appropriate permissions to it so that you can delete it.

Plase don't try to take permission on the m: drive and delete orphaned mailboxes !!!

Go in the Ex2k Management-Console to the storage group,
select a privat store then click on Mailboxes -> Clean UP Agent

The Mailboxes from the deleted users are now marked with
a RED X. Now you are able to delete this Mailbox from the
Management-Console.

I think this is the official way to Clean UP.
The default time for deletet mailboxes is
-> mailstore -> properties -> limits

PS: you can also remap such mailboxes to an user account.

Ok, I thought he'd already deleted the mailboxes. I didn't realize he was merely talking about deleting the domain users. Thanks ohauer for preventing disaster!

All sorted - I'll be an Exch2K expert one day...... (Too much Sendmail makes Jack a dull boy).
