Anyone know how to bar an individual (external) number or forward it to another number?<br>
<br>
I want to stop one of our employees phoning her mother 20 times a day and have that number divert to mine from any extension in the building.<br>

Zelandakh (evil but it's for their own good)

If you are trying to deny access to the number, just program the number in the ARS (Alternate Route Selection) table for deny:<br>
<br>
Dialed Total Rte Call Nd ANI<br>
String Mn Mx Pat Type Num Rq<br>
555-1212 7 7 den hnpa n<br>
<br>
This will not allow any calls to the number in question. If you are trying to get the message to the user by intercepting the call, you can route the call to a Route Pattern that changes the number to your phone number. If you need to go this way let me know.<br>

BRILLIANT!<br>

Tested, works fine. Assume route pattern DEN means DENY. What is call type HNPA and does it always have to be those values? My usual call type is pubu - not sure what that is either...

DEN does mean DENY. HNPA stands for Home NPA (Area Code) meaning local area. I don't think I've run into PUBU before.

This is great; very useful ... I did not know that this was possible using the method u describe.

I'd have tried using tolls and restriction.

Better still - You can use &quot;den&quot; in the &quot;cha ars an&quot; with &quot;pubu&quot; instead of &quot;hnpa&quot; ...

This provides an easy and efficiant way to block any DIDs starting in NNN where NNN is specified in the &quot;ars a&quot; table.

The nice thing about using &quot;pubu&quot; is that you no-longer have to match the min and max fields - e.g. 7 7.

Toll-independent blanket barring. Useful for those premium rate numbers.

I've just setup one of our PBXes as follows -

089 4 20 den pubu n n
090 4 20 den pubu n n

Works great
