I have Maxell Ultrium LTO Gen1 media that Netbackup is reporting to have over 300 gig stored on them. That figure is what I get from the available media report. Advanced Reporter also shows the same amount. I thought the maximum capacity was 200gig compressed? Do any of you see the same kind of figures for the LTO gen1?? Thanks in advance for any responses!

what you are seeing is the benefit of tape compression.

Not that I'm complaining about this or anything. :) I just wanted to make sure it was accurate. Thanks for your response!! I'm performing a cost analysis of our DLT and LTO backups per gig and needed to make sure those numbers are correct.

I use multiplexing (out of need, not preference before anyone asks :) ), and with our Oracle backups, we also reach 300GB per tape. Can't remember if the compression was vastly different before we multiplexed tho.
