Suppose the capacity of the DLT IV tape is 40Gb and LTO is 100Gb.
I'm using Legato 6.2, Win2K server, data on harddisk around 140Gb. So I need to change a new tape every morning. But something I feel quite interested, it is my LTO tape used 101Gb will be full in the past. But today I check the backup status, my tape used 125Gb then prompt me full. How can I control in Legato to use the tape more capacity?
My DLT IV tape also have this problem!

Odds are you are using compression on the hardware. As such, at a ratio of 2:1 you can get 70Gb on a DLT7000 tape, 80Gb on a DLT8000 tape and 200Gb on an LTO.
The snag is, some files will not compress well, so you can't guarantee over the 35/40/100Gb limits.
You will notice that the tapes go from 100% to full when they are really full.
