I have three machines on my network which are repeatedily getting the following error
The system process c:\windows\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819. The system will now shut down and restart. shutdown intiateated by nt authority\system.
I have run a Sophos virus check of all files on each machine and nothing is coming up. I would expect to see Sasser. During one scan the machine threw up the above error again and it was terminated. I have since hit the sophos website and downloaded a sasscli application from sophos. basically it scans and removes the sasser virus. I ran this and nothing came up. Somewhat bemused I tried running Adaware and found 27 objects which looked iffy. I am still getting the same problem.
The machines that are having this problem are Dell latitude laptops running Windows Xp Sp1 (Sp2 fails some of our applications).
Any suggestions as to what to look at now!!
