lsass.exe running high on CPU on Domain Controller

Hi Everyone

Our one Domain controller has been running 100% CPU for the past week every morning for an hour or two.
The 2 processes that are running high are lsass.exe and dfs. Now I know that this has something to do with servicing security requests, but why is is running so high all of a sudden.
Can someone point me in the right direction to start troubleshooting this?
