LSA database replication problems

We are recovering from a major network crash of 3 servers. We replaced a PDC and 2 BDC's. Have replaced, but they have remained as owners in our WINS database. We are correcting this, but have an even stranger issue. We have set home directories on member servers, and find that we are not able to assign domain user accounts to shares we create there. We can find them and add them, but when we open the folder again the user shows up as account unknown. Why is this happening? Another member server that was not affected by our recent meltdown does not have this problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

Here is more info on this problem. Turns out on new accounts that we add, we are nnot able to find them, and the user can't logon. almost like they don"t exist. Yet we entered them on the pdc and they show up in user mangler. What gives??
