Hi, I have Windows XP Home edition and about 70% of the time, when I try to open Internet Explorer, the computer freezes up and the fan speeds way up and creates a very loud noise... this also happens with other program freezes though far less often. I have a Pentium 4 1.5 ghz processor, 512 mb of ram, with Windows XP Home. What would cause the fan to speed up upon opening of IE specifically?? I use an online virus scanner and have found nothing on my system. Because of this problem I've considered uninstalling IE, but I found out that I can't as it is integrated into XP. What could be the problem and what should I try to do? Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot! :D

wow that's a wierd one..

make sure you have the latest bios in your mb.
