Lots of Crystal DLLs. I need an explanation of them all!

Hi,

I'm running Crystal 7.0.1.100, but I know we have patched countless different things, with version 8 database and export patches, CRW and CRPE critical patches smart viewer patches, etc., etc.

Does anybody know of a guide to all the crystal DLLs?
And a change log for all the versions of these DLLs?

We have so many, the report engine, the print engine, data access, export format/destinations, etc, etc. I doubt any of us are running even vaguelly the same setups here at my company, I'd like to try and get a grip on things and homogenise our configurations.

And a change log could tell me what known issues can be fixed with what versions of what.

I don't think there is a master reference that is made public. But you should do some searches on Crystal's web site. They have a couple of articles that I have seen in the past that explain what the categories are and the naming conventions. Just search for the name of the file.

But we've beaten 7 into something pretty damn decent now that we've lobotomised most of it's 'features'

I was hoping not that support has stopped, somebody had written a definitive DLL/EXE list for crystal7....

I've read a guide about the definitions of the DLLs, I mostly get the naming conventions. It's more the Changelog I was after. Why can't they just release single exe patches??
