Lost PHP Functionality

Hey all,

Recently Dreamweaver has "forgotten" about PHP code. (I am referring to Dreamweaver 8). When I first start up Dreamweaver and it shows the splash screen, the function to create a new PHP page, isn't there. Also when I do open a PHP page it doesn't color code any of the code. I noticed this a little bit after I installed the PHP 5 support extension (Through the extension manager). I have uninstalled the extension but Dreamweaver is still misbehaving. I have also tried to repair Dreamweaver. Neither has helped at all. I would rather not try and reinstall Dreamweaver, so if its at all possible to fix this problem without the previously stated, that would be great!

Only thing I can think of is a re install, why so worried about that? I do it regularly.

some extensions are faulty or not tested or 'too custom' to apply to just any platform.
and what Cheech said...reinstall DW...most likely extension was messing with core DW xml files used to regulate builtin php support.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice. Thats what I ended up doing. I was worried about some preferences and server connections that I had. I have quite a few, but it turned out I could export them. So I did and re-installed. The first time it didn't work. I had to delete the dreamweaver files out of the eapplication data folder in documents and settings. But after that it worked great!
