How do you change the password to Windows 2000 if you forgot your password. This is the log on

I was doing some research for a friend who lost his Win2K administrator password. A Google search turned up a few hits of costly software to do the job. Here are the first few hits. (I found this forum post on Google, too.)

$195 - Euro75 - $50 -
Are there any freewares out there? They all seem to have demo modes that don't do anything. This is one time use software. I found a few more on but none were free. I'll check next and some more of the Google hits.

Is this on a server or pro machine? A lot of times, people don't even set passwords on w2k pro. Glen A. Johnson
