Lost ability to export to Excel format? Please Help

My boss uses Crystal Reports 8.5 every day for his accounting work. This morning he can no longer export reports to Excel format. He may have done something to the program but says he did not. I checked to make sure that the export format file U2FXLS.DLL was present (it is), and also un-installed and re-installed Crystal Reports, but nothing has worked, he still can't export to Excel format.

Any idea what I can do to restore this? He's on my back about getting it fixed and I'm out of ideas.
