Losing Query Table

I have a workbook that was created in Excel 97 and I need when I open it in Excel 2003 I get the error:

The workbook was last saved in an earlier version of Excel. The following data may have been lost: Query Table

Many people use this file and it needs to be accessible to both versions, does anyone has any ideas on how?

Hi,

Was the QT indeed, lost when you opened it in 2003?

Can you still open in '97 with the QT? If so, with your cursor in the QT,

turn on the macro recorder,
EDIT the query,
get to the QBE Grid,
File > Return data to Excel
turn off the macro recorder.

export the module to a place that you can retireve it.

close '97

open in 2003

In the Sheet that should have the QT, Data > Get External Data > New Database query... and add ANY datasource, returning some data.

in the VB Editor, IMPORT the module

Post back with the code in the module to have it cumstomized to replace the "any old data" with the original query.

Thank you for your help, As it turns out I didn't delete the entire table just lost the location of the cell that it was for the search criteria causing it to throw an error that I misinterpreted the meaning of. I've goten the problem fixed now.
