Hi,

Having just applied the sasser worm patch to all our pc's, half of them lost one of their drive mappings (T incidentally, not that it should make a difference). Now, even though they keep getting remapped, after a reboot they always lose it again.

The "reconnect at logon" box is ticked.
I have tried the command line version with the /presistent:yes switch and still no joy.

I realise that we could introduce a login script but that would be a workaround and i'd rather solve the problem.

Any ideas???

Have you tried booting on your XP cdrom, going into Recovery Console,
and doing a fixmbr ?

otherwise you could boot a win98 floppy and do a fdisk /mbr

no,

but i don't really see why that might work?

Have you experienced this problem before?

sounds like you got something in your MBR causing confusion to windows.
Anytime disk manager and explorer don't play together, there's something fishy going on with your partitions.
