Anybody have a special Conf phone? I need something to work with our Option 81C. Any suggestions?

We use a lot of these on our 81C. We prefer Polycom Brand analog sets, because they work exceptionally well.

We usually have a digital phone xxxx in the conference room and translate an analog line withthe same DN as key 0 on the digital set. We have found it is much easier for a user to set up a conf call from the digital set from key 0, put it on hold and then activate the Polycom. There are versions that will work with a digital set, however we have found this method to be more economical for our customers.

As GparkXO said, i also do like he does as it saves alot of money and is eaiser for the user to do a conference.

If you have deployed IP, then Nortel offers the IP Audioconference Phone 2033. Based upon Polycom hardware but emulates a Nortel IP Phone 2001. Gives you soft keys (as with other IP Phones) so a common User Interface so that users don't have to use another digital/IP phone in the conference room to setup the call.

Sorry forgot to mention that we do not have IP phones

We also use the Polycom....very reliable, and reasonably priced.

Polycom or what we call "Star" phones due to their shape work well and you can get them with a couple of different options. I give them their own extension to preserve privacy. If you programm a 500 and a 2000 set with the same DN and you pick up either set during a call you will be in the call automatically. You can set up the phone to allow flash hook.

Can anyone provide a link to which phone you have?

The latest versions of the Polycom phones are:

The SoundStation 2: The successor to the old version (which we have all over the place). Awesome phones, as everyone else has said.

The SoundStation 2W (wireless): We have a couple of these and have been really happy with them. We use one for a suite of 3 rooms that have movable walls and can be configured many different ways. We also have one where they wouldn't drill a hole in the table to run the cord through. <rolls eyes> Executives...

Polycom's entire portfolio of "table top" voice conferencing equipment is at:

Thanks for all the help guys. So because this has to be setup as an analog phone you would have to setup the conference on another phone place it on hold and pickup on the SoundStation, correct? How would I setup flash hook with the analog phone?

if your not using ip, a simple poly analog with remote mikes if needed will same you about 1200 on that bundle price.. we keep 4 of those in the switchroom and almost never use the remote mikes... unless your conf table has 30 plus seats, a single poly will pick up with out fail... if you use ip poly, be carefull, the bigger the conf, the more they tend to clip... i had one that sounded like donald duck was the chair... he didn;t see the humor.. (i did)

Clear-One is another good conference phone. They are an octogonal shape that look like a flying saucer. We use the wireless models in a lot of conference rooms and have not had a problem with them (except when people forget to plug them back in to charge the batteries.) The also come in a Clear-One Max model which is 2 pods sharing the one line. They can each be strategically placed anywhere in the conference room, (like at each end of a long conference table.) This is as opposed to a polycom with external mikes. Just for general reference we buy most of our stuff from Calisto Communications. Good prices and excellent service (1866-612-7082)

In the cls put C6A and XFA
Everytime you hit the flash key you'll get another dialtone for conferencing

Polycom here with remote mikes. Works great.
